Project Description
ILbarcode is a cross-platform desktop application built with Wails (Go + SvelteKit) to automate barcode label printing for export operations. The app manages orders from Bali and Australia, generates TSPL labels (barcodes, QR codes, text), and prints directly to industrial label printers.
Challenge
An export company with operations in Bali and Australia needed a faster way to print accurate shipping labels. The manual process using Excel templates and copy-pasting to printer software was very slow and error-prone, especially during high order volumes.
Solution
We built a desktop application using Wails combining a Go backend (high performance) with a SvelteKit frontend (modern UI). The app features a local SQLite database per region (Bali/AU), custom TSPL label generator with barcodes and QR codes, and direct connection to label printers via OS drivers.
Result
Label creation and printing time per order was reduced from 3-5 minutes to under 30 seconds. Data input errors dropped dramatically as order data is pulled directly from the database, not retyped manually. The app runs on macOS and Windows without additional runtime installation.
